Historic North circuit
🏔 Simien Mountains
Trek the roof of Africa among gelada troops

A UNESCO escarpment of 1,000-metre cliffs, Walia ibex, and gelada monkeys in troops of hundreds that let you sit among them. Treks run from one day to a week; park rules legally require a scout on every trek — ours are booked, briefed, and paid properly, which is exactly the kind of logistics you don't want to improvise.
A note on conditions
Northern routes are advisory-sensitive. We monitor daily and apply generous cancellation terms on this circuit. Read our current safety assessment →

Ethiopia is bigger than it looks — France and Germany would fit inside it together. Distance is the thing most itineraries get wrong, so here is where you'd actually be.
- Getting there
- Fly Addis→Gondar (1h), then 2h drive to Debark park gate.
- Altitude
- 3,200–4,533 m — acclimatization built into every itinerary
